Here are some visa updates for Bangladesh and Thailand in 2024:
  • Visa waiver
On December 19, 2024, a visa waiver agreement between Bangladesh and Thailand will take effect, allowing official passport holders from both countries to travel without a visa. Diplomatic passport holders have been able to travel without a visa since 2018.
  • E-visa
Thailand will introduce an e-visa service for Bangladeshis, which is already available at 69 Thai embassies worldwide.
  • Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)
This visa is for Bangladeshi passport holders who want to travel to Thailand for long-term medical treatment. The DTV is valid for five years, and each entry allows for a stay of six months. The DTV is also known as the "digital nomad visa" and is geared toward remote workers and digital professionals.
  • Thailand Elite Visa
This visa is for long-term tourists and offers stays of 5-20 years.
